Rosé 2025
Clayhill Vineyard, Essex & Whitehouse Farm Vineyard, Oxfordshire
£16.00
I'm very excited about this wine - it's first time I've ever done a blended rosé, and I'm really happy with the results. A blend of Pinot Noir, 40% of it grown in the Crouch Valley in Essex, and 60% grown in Wantage, Oxfordshire.
The Essex juice was left 'on the skins' for 36 hours, before being drained-off to an old French oak barrel for fermentation, where it also naturally went through malo-lactic fermentation, helping to soften the acidity. By contrast, the Oxfordshire Pinot Noir was whole-bunch pressed straight on the day it was picked, and fermented in a stainless steel tank. This also went through malo-lactic fementation, then both wines were left to settle over winter before being blended together. No fining or filtering before being hand-bottled in May 2025, limited to just 658 bottles.
Thanks to the fantastic summer of 2025, this rosé is soft and juicy, but with good depth and length. I think it's a wine that's perfect on it's own served cold, but will also go really well with food - expect full red fruits, good weight, and a satisfying dry finish.
Available individually, or in cases of 6. Also included in the latest Discovery 3-pack and the latest Winemaker's mixed case.
